Find your Rhythm with TEDxLeamingtonSpa
If you’re addicted to TED talks, then you’re in luck because TEDxLeamingtonSpa returns for its fourth year on Saturday 13th October.
14 speakers and performers will explore this year’s theme, ‘Rhythm’ and will cover topics ranging from bio-science, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, diet and nutrition, dance, songwriting, music, pop culture and sex. Highlights include:
Ø Mary Franklin, Global Event Director for ReedPOP, who leads the ReedPOP and Comic Con teams outside North America, as well as the team that produces Star Wars Celebration in cooperation with Lucasfilm.
Ø Pete Brown British author, journalist, broadcaster and consultant specialising in food and drink – who’ll lead a live beer and music pairing.
Ø Mel Wells, Author of Two Number One bestselling books: ‘The Goddess Revolution’ & ‘Hungry For More’ – both described by OK magazine as “bibles” to help women quit dieting, and heal their relationship with food and their bodies.
Ø Modified Toy Orchestra will do a special one-off performance, presenting new music using three “Boots Rock Star Guitars”, five “Tandy 12 Computerised Arcade” games and six “Kissing Love Testers”
Ø Siddartha Khasgir, Principal Engineer at The Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at Warwick University & the research lead for Verification & Validation of Connected & Autonomous Vehicle technologies, he focusses on the testing and safe introduction of driverless cars.
Lead Organiser, Kimberley Owen said: “Rhythm is essential to life and that’s what makes this theme so diverse; from the beat of our hearts, to the beat of our daily commute, consider the algorithms of our online data right, or even the pace of your work day, right through to your favourite songs – it’s everywhere.”
Ticket holders get access to all talks and performances, light refreshments, a goodie bag and entrance to the after party at the Zephyr Lounge which runs until 1pm.
